CTS Meeting – Tuesday June 3rd – 2014

EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT SOLAR – IS NOW A GOOD TIME TO GO SOLAR ?

CTS is proud to make this very special presentation to deal with the many issues surrounding SOLAR Technology.

From the current Political situation and the effects on the  Renewable Energy Tariffs – RET’S and the Installation rebates, to the more interesting applications of SOLAR TECHNOLOGY -.

CAN I SAVE MONEY WITH SOLAR and

– HOW CAN I RUN MY ELECTRIC VEHICLE FROM SOLAR?

SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKERMr Tony Pecora of GREEN POWER COMPANY is imminently qualified.

Tony started the GREEN POWER Co eight years ago and has built up a highly reputable enterprise in Melbourne consisting of 24 full time staff. His core business revolves around such things as Commercial and residential Solar Photovoltaics (Grid connect, hybrid systems, off-grid systems), incorporating wind, batteries, Solar Hot Water, LED lighting and Energy Management Systems. Design, supply and install.

His company carries out various Studies dealing with such things as; Architecture – Building Mangement and Renewable Energy

However his vision for this company goes way beyond just installations and has built into the company a team of personal  that does the hard yards in product research and innovation.  Green Power has the credentials to give us a very complete picture and vision for Solar Energy in Australia and in particular, Melbourne.

Tony is a visionary and explores such things as Future world systems, engineered environment, energy, transportation and economics. He is keen to push the technology to the limits which is of great interest to CTS members. He is well aware of Tesla Energy concepts and thinks beyond the orthodox. However we have to work with what is commercially available NOW.

Indeed we maybe surprised how we can NOW save on Power Expenses as the kilowatt price soars. Gas is expected to go up by three times in line with world prices very soon so that will also have economic effects.

What is the viability of Solar – Now, and going forward? – What will a Solar system do for me and how much will it reduce my bill?  Tony will answer these questions and give a full run down on the economics of the Solar Production and cost savings and HOW to achieve this with the many technology options now available to us – SUCH AS:

–          E V’s – ELECTRIC VEHICLES – YOUR ROOF AS YOUR OWN PETROL STATION – One reason why we don’t see a big push towards EV’s is that if everyone came home in the evening and plugged in their EV for charging, it would pull down the grid. Tony will discuss the options for alternative EV charging and how that can be integrated into a complete Solar System.

–          Localized power production/ Power independence

–          Solar technology and systems –   How solar works – Solar design

–          The economics of solar – Should I sell power to the grid or use it my self?

–          Preferred equipment – The first question is, which Solar Panel do I use’? Mono Crystaline? Poly Crystaline? Amphorous? Which is best for Melbourne conditions? You will be surprised how complex this first question can be in it self…especially if you talk to John Bedini. The next big question: Which Inverter? The $600 one of the $1500 one…what do I really need?

CAN WE GO OFF GRID?

STORAGE BATTERIES – SAVE THE DAY FOR THE NIGHT

Now this is where it gets exciting. I attended the recent Solar Energy Expo which had many guest speakers and the HOT TOPIC is ‘STORAGE‘. Batteries are now at an affordable price and all the talk is that we are headed for ‘OFF GRID’ Installations or Hybrid Systems. The CSIRO Lead Capacitor Battery was ‘on topic’ at the conference along with many other exciting developments.

I saw a very compact 5kw system which is expected to be on the market for about $3500. Extremely compact and at the final stage of production engineering.

We are on the cusp of so many options that are opening up us as Technology advances at breakneck pace.

Here is a mean looking ELECTRIC BIKE ON SHOW at the recent expo – remember electric – full torque at zero revs.

YOUR INVITATION TO THIS VERY SPECIAL MEETING

We hope you will benefit from this presentation and clarify many of the confusing messages out there.

PLEASE INVITE ALL WHO WANT CLEAN ENERGY AND REDUCE THE EVER INCREASING POWER BILLS
