A simple test used to determine the effectiveness of the JOE CELL. The fuel was turned off and the engine was idled to a stop in the normal mode and then we fitted a charged cell and timed the run out time which was greatly extended thus proving the Joe cell was effecting the running of the engine. The amazing thing in this case is that there is no vacuum to the cell but was connected through a solid aluminium connection.
In the earlier years of engine development it was common for the rear cylinder to over heat and wear out quicker than the others along with very Poor fuel economy.
